If you're tracking employee costs or generating payroll reports you may find the need to deduct unpaid breaks from employee shifts. Instead of splitting the shift into two parts, all you need to do is add a break comment beneath the shift in the format 1 hour break, 30 minutes break or Break (12pm-1pm).
Unpaid breaks can also be used in combination with pay rate adjustments. So if you've already added a pay rate adjustment beneath your shift, you can place the unpaid break above or below it.
